Hi

Gosh , lots of controversy about the new Early Years Foundation Stage legislation, with the OPEN EYE campaign keen to make us all think twice about the validity and value of such a framework.

I would argue that for any Early Years practitioner with sound training in child development and understanding of the conditions under which a child learns best, such a detailed document is not necessary. For those Early Years practitioners whose training is not quite so recent, the use of such a long, wordy document may simply make the process of working with children overly bureaucratic and worrying.

But it is an interesting debate and one which is sure to go on and on!

Sally.
